2010 Cubs Pinewood Rally
Congratulations go to the cubs who competed in th Pinewood Rally at the end of January. Braeside came second overall and Hick's Own took 4th place. There were also a couple of cubs who took home individual awards on the day. More details can be found on the cubs webpage.

Scout Skills
Realising that there were a lot of knowledge and skills held by the parents of the group, one evening last term was turned into a Skills Workshop where the parents ran events for the scouts. The leaders put their feet up and let a small team of parents teach car mechanics, fencing, juggling, DIY, cooking, crafts and many more. The photo above is of the scouts posing whilst learning about photography under the tutorlage of Jon Barlow, a professional photographer. As you can see the scouts really took to it and had a great evening. Many thanks to the parents for giving up their time.

District Cubs Chess Tournament
Nearly 40 cubs from around the district attended Cubs Chess to pitch their wits against each other to achieve the title of Sevenoaks Champion. Julian Petrick from Kent Youth Chess said that the standard was high and all games were played in the right spirit of the game. Our very own James from 1st Hicks Own pack won the competition and was crowned the ultimate winner.
