The year 2007 celebrates 100 years of scouting. It's going to be an amazing year with an awful lot going on. Want to be part of it and get the most out of it? Well read on...

100 Challenges
There are 109 challenges for you to see if you can complete throughout the year. These range from repairing a tyre puncture to building a bivouac to visiting a historical monument. As well as certificates that you can get for completing 35 and 70 challenges, if you can complete 100 of them you be awarded the
"Kent Scouts 100 Challenges Badge". Are you up for the Challenge? 5 months have already gone by. If you want to take part then contact your leader.
Challenge 100
This is a national competition to be taken part in your patrols. The first stage took place in January and lasted 100 minutes and involved taking part in a challenge or series of challenges. The top 100 patrols (out of 3500 that took part) have been set the next challenge which is to carry out 100 challenges in 100 days. Unfortunately the Phoenix Scout patrols didn't make it into the top 100 but all of them scored higher than the average. Well done!

Scout Centenary Weekend - 05/07
On 26 May 2007 scouts all over the country did what they enjoy best - camping! In Sevenoaks District, things were no different and scouts troops were pairing up to have the best weekend camp since Brownsea itself. Phoenix Scout Troop paired up with 6th (Kemsing) Sevenoks Scout Troop and put on a
"I'm a Scout, Get me out of here!" camp. We had a very interesting Bushtucker trial courtesy of Chang, learnt how to gut and prepare our own dinner and live under natural shelters. Even the downpour on the Sunday evening didn't quell spirits for very long. The camp was huge success although most were happy to get home, have a nice bath and eat something which didn't look and smell like it had spent a week stuck to a fisherman's shoe!

Scout Sunrise Ceremony - 08/07
Scouting's Sunrise is a worldwide event to mark the moment of Scouting's Centenary. It took place at 8am on 1 August 2007, as Scouting comes together to celebrate a century of adventure and to stop and reflect.
